New Surgery for Andover Medical Centre to Begin Construction in February

We’re pleased to announce that construction will soon begin on a new surgery for Andover Medical Centre in Islington, transforming a floor of a former local authority office building on Newington Barrow Way.

The new facility has been designed to enhance healthcare provision for the local community, offering a spacious waiting and reception area, consultation and treatment rooms, group meeting spaces, as well as staff offices and back-of-house facilities. The surgery will be served by a new HTM-compliant ventilation and air conditioning system, ensuring a high-quality clinical environment for both patients and staff.

HFM is working closely with GBP Consult, who are acting as medical planners and project managers, alongside JSH M&E Consultants, Hardman Structural Engineers, and CMP Cost Consultants. The construction contract has been awarded to Borras Ltd, with HFM’s in-house Project Management team overseeing delivery.

With work set to commence in February 2025, this project marks another step in improving access to modern healthcare facilities in Islington. Completion is expected in Summer 2025, and we look forward to seeing the space come to life in the coming months.

Stay tuned for updates as the project progresses.
