Twisted Fin Ceiling Feature Complete at The Oracle, for Hammerson

The final part of the Mall refurbishment works at the Oracle is the dramatic set of twisted aluminium fins at Holy Brook Mall, for Hammerson.

These 300mm wide x 4.7m long twisted fins have been installed between plasterboard margins to create a visual baffle to a smoke extract plenum above the ceiling line.

The 10mm thick aluminium plates were cold formed by mechanical twisting when the material is relatively soft after extruding.

They were then powder coated a pale champagne bronze and installed on simple hangar supports. The colour tones well with the new marble effect tiling and bronze trims around the shopfronts in this premium brand mall.

Lighting is provided by suspended downlighters between the fins and side mounted spotlights above the margins to glint off the metallic finished surface of the metal. We have now completed the remodelling of the malls at The Oracle.

This has been a major investment over the last 5 years by Hammerson to keep the building looking fresh and attractive to retailers and shoppers alike.
